Fungarium - Illustrator Katy Scott

A postcard of one of the images from Kew Garden's 'Welcome to the Museum' series of books. The Fungarium illustrations are by Katy Scott in collaboration with Esta Gaya, a senior researcher at Kew Botanical Gardens who is especially fascinated by lichen. Guess what, the image is of a lichen - Umbrella basidiolichen. The basidiolichens are a genius of lichen that are poorly researched according to
wikipedia.

I had not heard of Santana houses before, and am off to read more about them. They are adorable! Nice vehicle for mail delivery.

I absolutely love the card with the lichen!
Strolling through the streets of Madeira would be the best way to admire these houses. The lichen card makes me want to do some research. And all smiles for Snoopy and Woodstock (and me!)
