I presume this what the Finns call a Lato (Hay Barn). A good thing to take shelter in if you were caught in a snow storm. But let our thoughts turn to summer and the 3-12 August 1951 Scout Jamboree in Bad Jschl, Austria. This card has both a hut and tents. The card comes with apostmark and a scouts message home as he sets out in that direction. It says "At the moment I am not sure who is going to wait for who at Dieppe but I believe it is equal. Otherwise alive and I am not broke yet. Today it is sun again"

That is a positive young man! Those charcoal burners' huts look sturdy - but oh, what a nasty job!
The charcoal huts are so interesting. I had never heard of them before. I really like the Finnish barn postcard: the sky color is stunning.
Alive and not broke... that's what we all should strive to be!
There are plenty of charcoal burn remains around here. Some people did so as a complementary job not so long ago (60 or 70 years).
I have got the Finnish stamp, but I had never seen the postcard. It is a nice one!
