Another distinctive bird, the lapwing. One of my favourites, I love its peewit call . "Hark Hark the lark at heaven's gate sings" and our little beauty is the Horned (the male has tufts of feathers in summer) or Shore Lark.

How nice is that Swiss design!
Anyway, I like all birds on stamps. They made me think of letters flying from the sender to the recipient...
Those Swiss owls are adorable :)
And tufted birds always make me smile.
Lapwings seem to be fewer in recent years. I'd love to see a golden plover. Fine stamps
