Tokyo Olympiad

 

Diamond shaped stamps seems to have been a trend in 1964 for the Olympics in Tokyo

but not for everyone
Triple Jump
the vertical and

horizontal were their choice.

    I like the look of diamond shaped stamps, but they are a little bit impractical, especially on a postcard with limited space.
    That high jumper on the3 Burundi stamps doesn't look like he'll make it!

    Its the first Olympics I remember, mostly the theme tune used for the coverage on the BBC which was suitably oriental and seemed very exotic at the time. Only 2 TV channels back then.
